I want to install a piece of software on the license server this afternoon to finish off a project and it will require a reboot.

I wanted to reboot it in the middle of the day but don't want to cause an issue and get "The remote session was disconnected because there are no Remote Desktop License Servers available ...."

Don't need 30-40 calling with an issue.

wow - OK... While my gut tells me you'd be fine - the issue I would expect you to POSSIBLY get is someone trying to sign in right while the reboot is happening - but otherwise I would expect everything else to just stay running. But don't really know.

I was thinking the same thing. As they say, timing is everything.

Hell hath no fury, like a medical receptionist scorned. 🙂

how do we reset it to allow for updated devices?

Open "RD Licensing manager", browse for device who's license you want to "revoke", leftclick on it and choose "Revoke license"
As said, up to 20% of total licenses can be revoked before expiry.

Where will his EHR be hosted? Local or cloud?

I would say it can be done a good bit cheaper that $80k,.. I mean wow. I know NTG could spec it out less.

So much of HIPPA is simple common sense with no all users seem to understand. You don'[t keep patient data on the local computer.
IIRC - Bitlocker isn't 'approved' for drive security - Vera Crypt I know isn't. But if you do an RDS session to the server - keeping all the data on the server, you may be fine with that. Keeping everything off the local prevents multiple failure points.

The XX concurent users only comes into play if the licensed application offers such a thing. In the case of something like Office 2013, you'd definitely need 300 license...

But for Something like... Raiser's Edge, or a Student Information System... You'd only need to license for the expected number of concurrent users.

IE: Raiser's Edge can be installed on every computer on my campus... But only 15 of us can log in at one time.

If I have 50 users, but 75 computers and I want Office on all PCs, I need 75 licenses of FPP or VL.

Yes, Office I guess comes in all kinds of license models. With O365 it is by user with at least five devices for each user.
